Please Note Texas Laws concerning Marriage Licenses:

Individuals must be 18 or older to obtain a marriage license and at least 14 with
parental consent.
If under the age of 16, Texas law requires that the couple receives a court order
before being allowed to marry.
A medical exam is not required; however, there is a three-day waiting period.
Once issued, the license is valid for 30 days.
Cost varies from county to county.  Please contact your County Clerk’s office for
specific information.  Click here for a list of Texas County Clerk Offices.  Travis,
Williamson and Hays County Clerk information is included on this website.
If divorce was finalized within last 30 days, bring certified copy of the divorce
decree stating the 30-day waiting period is waived.
As of September 1995 Texas Law requires that a notarized statement pertaining to
child support be submitted by all marriage license applicants. This form may be
obtained at the same time you apply for your marriage license. It must be signed and
completed in the presence of two witnesses and a notary public. No applications can
be processed without the proper submission of this statement.
Ordained Christian ministers and priests; Jewish rabbis and persons who are officers
of religious organizations and who are duly authorized by the organization to
conduct marriage ceremonies may perform marriages in Texas. --- Ministers must
complete the marriage license and return it to the county clerk who issued it within
30 days after the marriage. --- For questions see the county clerk.
